We are excited to announce that we have secured all of the speakers for our TWO DAY Child Care Business Success Summit! Friday Keynote Speaker
Jordana Shakoor
Jordana Shakoor founded JYS Consultants – PosiPower Concepts, Inc. in 1993 and travels extensively throughout the United States presenting PosiPower Workshops, most notably “Our Customers Deserve the BEST – Manage Your Time and Stress” and “Diversity in the Workplace in the 21st Century.” Jordana has trained hundreds of community agencies, child care providers, school districts, and corporate associations. She has a B.A. from The Ohio State University, and a Master in Education/M.Ed – curriculum and instruction from Otterbein University.
Saturday Keynote Speaker
Lynnette Klejka
Lynnette Klejka never envisioned a future working with the Summit County Board of Developmental Disabilities but at the age of 48, she sold her business, began a new career, and has never looked back. She is currently the Assistant Director of Inclusion for Summit DD and frequently speaks throughout the County and State focusing her efforts on the topic of Inclusion and the joys of “Celebrating people of ALL abilities.” From her early years as a high school band director to owning her own Early Childhood Center, Lynnette has always opened her mind, heart, and doors to all families and community members.
Presenters
Jill Badger
Jill is the SBDC Center Business Advisor for the Ohio SBDC at the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce. Jill Holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Business Advisor. Jill is currently serving as Vice President for the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association (OCCRRA) Board of Directors. She also serves on the Board of the Toledo Area Small Business Association.
Erin Holleran
Erin is a Step Up to Quality Specialist for the YWCA CCR&R. She has been involved with the development and implementation of the annual Business Success Summit and Business Success Institute. Erin serves as a member of the YWCA CCR&R marketing team and has been fundamental in the creating of business trainings for the CCR&R. Erin founded and served as the business manager for a non-profit child care program before coming to the YWCA, she also runs a successful online business and preschool blog.
Nancy Oates
Nancy is the Preschool Specialist for the YWCA CCR&R, Lima office, with 5 years of working in the R&R system with both Center and Family Child Care Providers. Nancy has been both a preschool teacher and center administrator, with over 26 years of experience working with children and families in non-profit agencies. She also co-owned a private company and has been training adult learners for 15 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Ohio University, is a certified Preschool CLASS observer, and completed Conscious Discipline Institute training (CD1).
Alison Okenka
Alison is a Step Up To Quality Specialist for the YWCA CCR&R in Toledo, she also serves as a member of the YWCA CCR&R marketing team. Before joining the YWCA, Alison held various positions, including administrator, at a non-profit child care program. Alison has a bachelor’s degree in Human Development & Family Studies from BGSU, but Early Childhood Education and Child Development continues to be the focus of her professional experience. In her free time Alison provides event planning and marketing services to individuals and small businesses.
Kelly Pheneger
Kelly Pheneger is the Director of Education at WGTE Public Media. She holds a Master of Education degree from BGSU with specializations in reading and intervention. Over the past 20 years, Kelly has conducted training for thousands of early childhood educators in NW Ohio on a variety of topics including ethics and professionalism, early childhood development, media literacy, and positive behavior guidance.
Maribeth Tercha
Maribeth has 25 years experience in Early Childhood Education, serving as a Program Administrator, University Faculty and Ohio Approved Professional Development Trainer. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Teaching and Instruction. Maribeth’s professional goal is to create a positive work environment while supporting children and families in high quality Early Childhood programs.
