Pandemic Child Care Programs in Northwest Ohio Are Providing an Essential Service!

| April 22, 2020

The YWCA CCR&R could not be more proud of the amazing work being done by Temporary Pandemic Child Care Programs in Northwest Ohio. In the 20 counties that we serve there are a total of 203 Temporary Pandemic Child Care Programs.

These programs have the capacity to provide care for more than 3,670 children of essential workers. This ensures that these employees have appropriate care for their children so they can continue to complete their much needed work!  In addition,1,210 of the children currently being cared for  at pandemic child care programs are utilizing publicly funded child care.

We are also grateful for the fact that 688 Child Care staff members are currently employed by Temporary Pandemic Child Care programs. Many programs have been able to retain their staff in order to serve as pandemic programs, giving their employees the opportunity to continue working throughout this crisis.

Keep up the amazing work, we know that it is not easy but it is definitely needed!
